The blog is not finished! But after the Theft (yes, capital letters), the want/need to update the blog took second fiddle to dealing with the Theft and just finishing the trip sans computer. Since being home, it's been hard to get that motivation to complete it. But I will. Ever so slowly. Please be patient!

  1. Surprise family vacation? You would think that they would tell you so that if its in your travel wishlist you can cross it off.

By the way you missed celebrate University Convocation! After all of your work you should get a party :)

  2. Great list!
Since you're planning to travel a while, I'd borrow from the library or buy the book Vagabonding.
Don't stress too much about visas and booking flights...unless the visa is required upon arrival at your very first destination, there shouldn't be too much problem for a Canadian!
Flights in Europe and SE Asia (and probably most of the rest of the world besides N America) can be had super cheap, even on short notice!

  3. I didn't think there would be too much issues with Visas, Russia and China aside. Seeing as China is out, Russia is the only one I need to worry about. The Consulate in Canada here told me that as long as I know when I'll be in Russia, I can apply whenever. . . . as long as I apply while still in Canada.

  5. Scary how similar my list is to this, it's weird to see other people doing the same thing as you.

As far as canceling your phone, if you are in a contract you should put it on Kijiji, sometimes people will take over your contract and it saves you the cancellation fee.

Also you should update this list as I noticed some of these you said were done in recent posts.
